I signed up because I am interested in finance, and it seemed like an interesting course.
I hope to get a better sense of the needs of some of the communities we look at, and to better understand the impacts of philanthropy.
I chose to take this class because I wanted to learn about philanthropy and different ways to give to set myself up for college and beyond. I think giving back is so important and I hope to offer whatever skills and resources I have to contribute.
I am also interested in giving to support the environment and organizations that work towards environmental sustainability.
I read a little of the syllabus and it talked about social justice which I am super interested in, yet I'm not completely sure how to get involved. I know social justice work is what I want to do with my life and in this class we are exposed to a lot of people and organizations who have made it their life so I see that as an amazing opportunity that I have access to.
I chose to take this course because I have volunteered and worked for a series of non-profits, and have always been curious about the inner-workings of their organizations, how they make financial decisions, pay their employees, etc. I am also very interested in environmental justice, and hopefully will be able to learn how I can contribute to that field
i took this course because my goal is to one day own or work for a non profit that provides healthy and sustainably sourced foods to low-income communities. Im hoping that this course will provide me with an introduction into philanthropy and how community organizing can be done. The opportunity to help others in the process is just an added plus.
Although I did need this course to fulfill my PPP course requirement this year, I decided on Philanthropy Initiative because I am really fascinated with the stories of other people. I mentioned that I'd talked to a bunch of people from the recent B&B project and that it was very insightful. I'm hoping this class can provide something similar for me, where I can learn about more people's lives and their wants, needs, and concerns.
I signed up because I wanted to learn more about service, organizations in the Bay Area, and various important issues in our community. I also wanted to continue helping serve and interact with other communities in the Spring Semester.
I signed up for this class because I want to know how to take a step in improving the human condition altogether. What I hope to get out of this course is to learn about other nonprofit organizations that I might be able to help.
I took this course because I wanted to learn how to give back to the community. I have volunteered a lot and my goal is to find an organization that I'm really passionate about and want to help.
I signed up for philanthropy because I don't have an extensive knowledge of philanthropy, and I believed that learning about ways to give back to your community would be very beneficial to my learning.
Write something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview.
