Ben was not here--I met with Christy, then continued to add to the list of Bay Area Foundations.
I really appreciated your insights today and asking if you could learn more about Caring for Children before making calls. It can be challenging working on projects independently, but you are handling it beautifully!
Today, Maurice and I met with Kate Favetti for the second time. I sent the flyers to her and Maurice is finishing up the application for event sponsors. In addition, I contacted Ms. Yao to help us the Chinese translation for the neighborhood notice. Our next step is to start contacting local businesses and car clubs in the area.
Please let me know how the requests for translation goes. We can also look into hiring a translator if Ms. Yao is unavailable. :)
I went to the Youth Art Exchange office to help them out with some miscellaneous tasks such as setting up a Brita filter, organizing their snack room, and setting up snacks. Although these jobs may not seem very important, I learned that they do in fact take a lot of time and having volunteers to help them out with similar tasks can be extremely beneficial.
Second time meeting with Kate and we got a few more tasks to do such as translating the sheet into cantonese. We are finishing up formatting the applications and will maybe rewrite where we see fit.
Zach and I walked around the excelsior for about half an hour; we were looking for interesting storefronts to profile on the EAG face book page. We found around 10 possible options all of which I would be interested in profiling.
Today Nick and I walked around the excelsior and learned more about the neighborhood and how we could get involved and talk to certain business. Hopefully we will get to talking to the owners more next time.
Today I met the YAX team. They are all very nice, goal oriented, and passionate about providing the opportunity to take art classes to students in SF public schools. From the start they put Dylan and I to work. I was filing and organizing google docs, and Dylan did some cleaning around their closet space.
Write something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview.
